Near the Hotel:The Villages:The village of Husseren les Châteaux counts a little more than 400 inhabitants of which more than twenty families are wine-growers.
The small streets, the church (its statue of Saint Pancrace XIV and its Rinkenback org from 1890) and the typical half-timbered houses constitute a nice little walk ending in the vineyards or the forest, it all offering a splendid panoramic view on the Alsatian vineyard, open country and the Black Forest.
Eguisheim : "The streets, wrapped snail-like around its church, form twin concentric circles of ramparts, lined with colourful timber-framed houses whose roofs rise and fall like an accordion."
The city of Colmar:
Ten minutes from the hotel (by car), Colmar, the city of Bartholdi, offers a wide range of attractions from the museums (musée Unterlinden) to the quarter of La Petite Venise…
The Castles:At twenty minutes walk from the Hotel, discover the ruins of the Trois Châteaux (or three castles) and the exceptionnal view from the ridge of the Schlossberg. The Route des 5 Châteaux also proposes the restored Chateau Hohlandbourg only five minutes from the hotel by car and the ruin of the Pflixbourg castle. Its is a most beautiful trip in the forest with views on the Munster valley and the open country of Alsace. For those curious about history, more than 200 other ruins of castles are to be discovered in Alsace, notably the Trois Châteaux de Ribeauvillé and its Way of the Cross up to the Saint Ulrich castle… Le Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg is one of the most impressing castles in Alsace and France.
